Brad Bostic

Chairman and CEO

Brad Bostic has been founding, leading, and investing in high-growth technology companies for the past 25 years. Frustrated by the prevalence of one-size-fits-all, trial-and-error patient care, Brad founded hc1 to ensure patients are diagnosed effectively through optimized lab testing and treated with tailored medications that lead to better outcomes.

Under Brad's leadership, hc1 has grown from a startup to an international leader using AI to identify risk signals in lab data spanning more than 260 million unique patients.

A recognized innovator, investor, entrepreneur, and business operator, Brad's transformational leadership has rapidly propelled growth and enterprise value in public and private companies yielding billions in market value. He has been recognized as a premier business leader, awarded the “2020 Dynamic Business Leader of the Year” by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and honored as a “Becker’s Healthcare Top Entrepreneur” by Becker’s Healthcare.

Michael Braverman

President of hc1 Insights

As President of hc1 Insights, Michael is responsible for the execution and delivery of hc1 solutions to customers. His team works to seamlessly move customers through the activation timeline, educate users on the hc1 platform® and build robust analytics for maximum customer success.

Prior to hc1, Michael served as a Director of PureConnect Business Operations at Genesys and as a Sr. Manager of Business Operations at Interactive Intelligence, where he led the Business Operations groups in the delivery of financial planning, analysis, business intelligence, solutions and services to maximize business opportunities, growth and profitability of Service Delivery.

Michael currently lives in Zionsville with his family.

Chuck Girard

VP of Data Strategy

As VP, Data Strategy, Chuck is responsible for leading the development of data products and services that help diagnostic laboratories, health systems and researchers improve clinical care.

Prior to this role, he led hc1's business intelligence team, overseeing the development of analytics products that supported operational and clinical decision-making. Chuck has nearly 20 years of experience working in healthcare, including roles related to laboratory analytics, clinical research and insurance.

Julie Gniffke

SVP of Engineering

As the SVP of Engineering, Julie oversees the hc1 Lab Insights engineering teams. She is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining hc1 applications and services and creating efficient ways to process and manage hc1 data.

Before joining hc1, Julie spent 14 years at Transgenomic Inc. where she held several positions, including manager of software engineering. She was responsible for creating and delivering complex diagnostic tools and applications. Julie holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado and an MS in Computer Information Technology from Regis University.

Bill Robinson

VP of Data Engineering

As Vice President, Data Engineering, Bill is responsible for Machine Learning and AI initiatives applied to the critical patient data we receive daily. He leads a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts with the mission of finding signals within the data that can help our clients serve their patients more comprehensively. Bill has also led the Integration team at hc1 in the past and has been working with laboratory data for nearly two decades.

Prior to hc1, Bill led a team at Orchard Software that activated online ordering portals for laboratory clients, developed integrations between lab information systems and EMRs and supported users of Orchard’s robust lab software.

Bill earned his B.S. in Organizational Leadership and Supervision with a minor in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University.

Zach Dosen

VP of Product Operations

As Vice President of Product Development, Zach is responsible for agile software development operations, as well as product strategy and lifecycle management across the complete portfolio of products at hc1 Insights. Zach has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software development and delivery in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical research and clinical laboratory operations. He has led numerous transformational programs to improve software development practices, including the implementation of Scrum agile methodology.

Zach currently resides in Marietta, GA, with his family, their dog and three cats.

Jennifer Maxwell

Executive Director of Client Success

In her role as Executive Director of Client Success, Jennifer leads hc1’s Client Success team with a focus on understanding hc1's lab and health system clients who are challenged to do more with less. She understands how actionable, real-time insights can empower a clinical lab to make informed business decisions while providing quality services to physicians and patients. 

As part of the hc1 Insights Leadership team, Jennifer is focused on providing technology solutions for labs and health systems that help them optimize and grow their businesses while leveraging clinical data to identify risk signals for chronic diseases and improve patient outcomes. Her significant contributions were recognized with hc1’s highest honor in 2022, the  Breakthrough Award, and also received an hc1 Core Value Award in 2021.

Prior to hc1, she was part of the Salesforce and AWS ecosystems with a small tech consultancy. Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, MI and currently resides in Carmel, IN with her husband and two young children.

Britt Putka

VP of Service Delivery

As VP, Service Delivery, Britt is responsible for the execution and delivery of hc1 solutions to customers. Her team works to move customers through the activation timeline seamlessly, educate users on the hc1 Platform®, and build robust analytics for maximum customer success.

Prior to hc1, Britt spent over 15 years delivering software as a service for healthcare organizations. She also managed a biomed technician training program and implemented an inventory management solution supporting many large hospital systems nationwide for TriMedx, a leading clinical asset management company.

Chris Brown

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Chris oversees the finance, legal and compliance teams. Before hc1, Chris was President and CFO of ChaCha. At ChaCha, Chris launched the mobile products and guided the company’s growth to the #1 answers service worldwide, answering over 2 Billion questions in just a few years after its launch in 2008.

Before ChaCha, Chris spent 20 years scaling technology businesses in the wireless sector.   He held various leadership roles in sales and customer operations, finance, M&A, and strategic planning for Verizon Wireless and Nextel Communications.  At Nextel he was part of the team that completed the $35B merger with Sprint and then completed the $7B follow-on acquisition of Nextel Partners.  Chris started his career at Deloitte Haskins and Sells and is a CPA.

Charlie Clarke

Chief Innovation Officer

Charlie Clarke is the Chief Innovation Officer at Health Cloud Ventures. He is responsible for driving the company's AI and innovation initiatives. He deeply understands the healthcare industry and has a proven track record of success in delivering innovative solutions. He is working to develop new AI-powered solutions that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness for our customers. He is also working to build partnerships with other healthcare organizations and technology companies to accelerate the adoption of AI in healthcare.  In addition, Charlie ensures the continued security, availability and performance of the hc1 platform.

Previously, he served as the SVP of Technology for hc1.  In this role,  Charlie led execution across the hc1 Engineering and IT Operations. He oversaw developing, delivering, and maintaining new products and features to hc1 applications. 

Before joining hc1, Charlie spent 15 years at Anthem Inc., where he led the delivery of a mission-critical enterprise customer service solution for the Medicare program. This solution provided 24×7 technology solutions for more than 55 million Medicare beneficiaries.

A strong advocate for the use of AI in healthcare, Charlie believes that AI has the potential to revolutionize the way healthcare is delivered. He is also a firm believer in the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers, payers, and technology companies.

Charlie is a University of Notre Dame graduate with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He is also a certified AWS Cloud Practitioner.

Shelly Simeone, CHSP

SVP of Legal | Chief Compliance Officer

As the SVP of Legal, Chief Compliance Officer, Shelly is responsible for leading the internal processes for promoting and ensuring the organization's compliance with laws and regulations. With over 20 years of legal and compliance experience, Shelly oversees the organization's information security and privacy program, intellectual property portfolio, and all customer and partner contracting and procurement. 

As a part of the organization's information security and privacy program, Shelly launched the organization's HITRUST compliance program, earning HITRUST Risk-based, 2-year (r2) certification.

Before joining hc1, Shelly served as the Sr. Director, Legal and Regulatory Services for Kaplan Compliance Solutions, where she spearheaded the organization’s SSAE 16 SOC 2 certification. Shelly resides in downtown Indianapolis with her husband.

Laura Breedlove

Chief Operating Officer

Laura Breedlove is the Chief Operating Officer and also assumes the operational responsibility for hc1 HR services and staff. Laura is a respected product and technology executive with over 20 years of experience building products and technology at scale.

Before joining hc1 as the SVP of Product, Laura led several tech companies to scale and grow to help them leverage software and build platform solutions and products. Laura was excited to return to hc1 in late 2021, where she had initially received the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Year award from the Indianapolis Business Journal in 2016.

Diane Janowiak, MT(ASCP)

Senior Director of Client Solutions

Diane Janowiak, MT(ASCP), is hc1’s senior director of client solutions. She is responsible for ensuring the healthcare organizations that rely on hc1 solutions achieve their goals by providing insights into market analysis, product positioning, and solution development. Her 27+ years working in the reference and acute care laboratory settings have made her a go-to thought leader on driving quality and efficiency in all areas of healthcare, all while grounding her success in low-cost, high-quality care.

Diane, a CAP inspector, understands the day-to-day challenges and pain points—which are exacerbated by increased demands and changes to healthcare delivery that makes it difficult to make all the puzzle pieces fit—facing laboratory leaders and offers solutions to enhance lab quality and efficiency. Her experience encompasses all areas of the lab, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, microbiology, transfusion medicine, toxicology, molecular diagnostics, donor testing, cytology, and histology.

Prior to joining hc1, Diane was the vice president of laboratory operations for the South Bend Medical Foundation, where she provided management and oversight of all clinical departments, implemented innovative testing technologies, negotiated contracts, established budgets, and provided efficiency through IT solutions and strategic automation.

Peter J. Plantes, MD, FACP

Physician Executive

Peter J. Plantes, M.D., FACP, has three decades of experience creating service and delivery solutions that enhance marketplace success and clinical performance for clinical practice groups, academic faculty group practices, hospitals, health systems, and healthcare organizations. His success stems from his ability to blend and synergize clinical knowledge, operational expertise, financial performance, and collaborative methodology with his deep commitment to serving patients and improving the health of the community.

Dr. Plantes has served in CEO & Physician Executive roles for a number of large healthcare clinical delivery networks including regional community networks, academic practices, national hospital networks, international health systems (Chile, Colombia),  and corporate managed care/HMO networks.

John Baker, MBA

Director

John Baker is the Director, COO, and Manager of National Wine & Spirits, Inc. (NWS/National). Founded in 1936 and headquartered in Indianapolis, NWS operates as a wine & spirits wholesaler in Indiana and an Authorized Distribution Agent (ADA) and wine wholesaler in Michigan. National’s 1,100 employees proudly service 20,000 licensees with 14,000 products represented by 450 suppliers.

As EVP/COO of National, John is ultimately responsible for all operations and the financial performance of the country’s eighth-largest wholesaler. He works closely with the ownership and management team and various external partners to develop and implement business plans that have delivered growth for NWS and its suppliers.

John graduated from the University of Miami (OH) and received his MBA from Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management.

Mark Shary

Director

Mark Shary brings a wealth of experience building high-growth technology companies to hc1.com. Mark founded HubLink, a high-growth healthcare technology company, and led two others after beginning his career with Ernst & Young.  Mark led HubLink from inception to more than $50 million in revenue through a combination of organic growth and mergers.

Having directly managed all core functional business areas for a variety of companies, Mark has built and managed international sales organizations. He has served as CFO of a listed company, bought and sold technology businesses, managed a large R&D team, negotiated multi-million dollar technology deals, and financed several startups.

Mark led and advised on dozens of corporate finance transactions ranging in size from several million to several billion dollars.  He has a B.B.A in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and is a CPA.
