Description

Your purpose:

As product marketing manager, you will arm hc1 with the knowledge and tools necessary to clearly and effectively communicate our solutions’ value to the market. An attention to brand and detail and eye for quality are critical to your success, along with an ability to grasp and present our solutions’ value propositions in a way that resonates and clearly articulates how we solve our buyers’ problems.

Two of the most important things you will be responsible for are product positioning (internal) and product messaging (external). You will need to develop a defined understanding of the market category, target customer segmentation, value for customers, distinguishing features and/or capabilities and competitive alternatives.

This role is the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics we need to drive success in sales and marketing and to achieve results. You will be the product evangelist within the company and will play an integral role in organizing product launches.

What you will be doing:

  • Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who they are, how they buy and their key buying criteria.
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
  • Collaborate with product managers and the rest of the marketing team to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas.
  • Support our sales team; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop product-centric internal tools and external collateral that not only effectively communicates the value of hc1 solutions to our buyers, but makes them excited to buy our solutions and teach sales team members how and when to use it.
  • Understand and document our buyer’s process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn.
  • Develop a product marketing plan in conjunction with the VP of Marketing, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
  • Plan the launches of net-new products and releases of existing products, and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the product marketing plan and report back to the business on required changes.

Your skills & experiences:

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Communications or other related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills - must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups and a solid writer and visual communicator of ideas.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player!
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines with little supervision.
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working.
  • Proficient in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel), Slack, Wrike and Google Suite.
  • Familiar with marketing automation tools, such as Hubspot and Google Analytics.
