hc1 Team Members Honored for Contributions to Indianapolis Business Community

Local awards recognize rising stars for their contributions to the technology and business sectors

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 25, 2021hc1, the leader in critical insight, analytics, and solutions for precision health, announces Val Spangler, senior manager of BI operations for hc1, has been selected for the 2021 TechPoint Tech 25 Class. This annual award honors a prestigious selection of 25 individuals who are exceptional performers in helping grow the community’s tech and tech-enabled companies. Hand-selected by an independent judging panel, Spangler was celebrated during a special joint event with the Indianapolis Business Journal’s CTO of the Year awards at the Indiana Roof on Aug. 19, 2021.

Having joined hc1 in 2018, Spangler’s role requires her to work cross-functionally to achieve success. Her ability to ask the right questions, spot data trends, and effectively communicate and collaborate enables the team to turn powerful data into actionable insights and in turn enables hc1 clients to make the most of their solutions.

In addition, Nichol Wuertemberger, senior manager of operations at hc1, was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s inaugural class of 20 in their Twenties, a group of up-and-coming leaders in central Indiana who will help shape our economy and our communities for decades to come. A supplement in the Aug. 6, 2021 issue of the weekly newspaper noted Wuertemberger started at hc1 in 2016 as an Orr Fellow and is now responsible for executing strategy and financial operations, working on everything from the company’s five-year business plan to weekly execution. During the pandemic, he was a key player in helping hc1 release three COVID-related analytics solutions in six months.

“On behalf of the entire hc1 team, I would like to commend Val and Nichol for their commitment to hc1’s mission and exceptional performance,” said Brad Bostic, chairman and CEO of hc1. “This recognition from the IBJ and TechPoint is well deserved and illustrates the incredible possibilities that exist for talented young professionals to build meaningful and rewarding careers by growing innovative technology companies right here in Indiana.”
