We had a blast at last year’s Executive War College, but we think this year’s will be one you won’t want to miss. hc1’s Scott LaNeve is taking the stage with Gina Cooper, MSN, RN at Community Health Network to present some exciting new research into patient management and how it impacts the larger opioid epidemic.

Understanding the Opioid Epidemic: Size of the Problem, Challenging Requirements for Patient Management, and Ways for Labs to Add Value to Physicians, Payers, and Patients

Where: Sheraton Hotel - New Orleans, LA

When: Tuesday, April 30 - 7:30 AM - 8:20 AM

In their presentation, Scott will be covering the opioid crisis at large and what the country and individual states are doing to fight back. There are guidelines suggested by the CDC that have been adopted as best practices by most states, but even still, their effectiveness has always remained an unanswered question.

Gina and her team at Community Health Network have been conducting research into which parts of these guidelines are most effective at reducing opioid risk among patients. They’ve come back with some conclusions that can shed light on how the federal and state guidelines can improve patient health over time. Scott will then tie all of this exciting new data back to health systems and laboratories and how each of those entities can help in their own ways.

If you’re attending EWC 2019 or just interested in the research that is going to be presented, feel free to check out our event page for more information.
