hc1.com partner Appriss Health recently announced achievement of critical milestones in facilitating interstate data sharing and integration of PDMP information into clinical workflow.
Appriss announced that 51 of the 54 PDMPs are now actively participating in PMP InterConnect, a national PDMP interstate data sharing hub provided by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), and maintained by Appriss Health. PMP InterConnect is processing more than 162 million PDMP interstate transactions per month. From June 2018 to June 2019, states exchanged more than 1.1 billion interstate reports.
The milestones Appriss Health has achieved are significant as healthcare providers using PDMP and toxicology testing data as a routine part of their clinical decision making processes have been able to reduce opioid misuse. The milestones are also beneficial for users of hc1 Opioid Advisor™ as the solution leverages Appriss Health’s PDMP data tools to bring automated comparison of PDMP and toxicology result data to healthcare providers with the click of a mouse.
hc1 Opioid Advisor™ combines the more than 162 million PDMP interstate transaction per month with laboratory testing data into a clear, comprehensive and automated picture that supplies the precise decision support necessary to deliver the right care to the right patient at the right time.
hc1 Opioid Advisor™ reports include an intuitive “traffic light” consistency analysis plus patient risk scores for drug overdose, misuse and abuse leading to better outcomes. This helps providers know at a glance whether a patient is engaging in risky behavior, such as using illicit drugs in addition to prescribed drugs, taking higher doses than prescribed or not taking prescribed drugs but continuing to refill them.
