At least 12 acquisitions or IPOs since 2007 have generated more than $4.5 billion in market value and over 3,000 tech jobs in Indianapolis, making the Circle City rich with local tech talent. In 2014, TechPoint, an innovative company focused on growing Indiana tech organizations, launched IndyX, a program that brings top talent to local companies through internships and recruitment events. TechPoint received a $1.3 million Lilly Endowment grant to launch this groundbreaking program. hc1.com is excited to announce our involvement in the initiative, with three Indy Xterns calling the hc1.com campus home for the summer.

Chelsie Kasun, 20, an Informatics major at Indiana University, joined the hc1.com marketing department. She said that the application process was very focused on placing Xterns in a place that felt right. "I have always been more interested in developing, so when it was suggested that marketing may be the place for me, I was a little skeptical at first. But after talking with everyone during the interview process, I was excited to combine my passion for computers with my love of art through marketing and digital design."

photo 5.PNGTechPoint not only provides exceptional job placement for their Xterns - there are plenty of other perks that participants enjoy. All IndyXterns live together on IUPUI's campus in housing provided by their respective companies. They attend presentations, participate in sponsored hackathons, and network with the top companies in Indianpolis, including hc1.com, Apparatus, and Interactive Intelligence. IndyXterns also have the opportunity to attend tech talks at various organizations in Indy, including the tech talk with hc1.com on July 15th. Working alongside leaders in these companies provides Xterns with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field.

"hc1.com has been a great place to intern," says Kasun. "We work right alongside everyone else, creating tangible results and moving the company forward towards its goals. It's easy to forget you're just an intern here."

Also joining hc1.com this summer is Mitchell Mays, 19, a Computer Science major at Taylor University. He is joining the Support team and is enjoying exploring and implementing new functionality to solve issues clients may bring to the table. Collin Trowbridge, 19, is studying Software Engineering at Rose-Hulman. He is working with the QA team at hc1.com, dealing with the entire product from front to back. hc1.com would like to thank all of our interns for an amazing start to the summer.
