Your Purpose: 
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end product management process; working directly with clients to understand their needs,  translating that  vision into requirements, and relaying that vision to our engineering team to successful product launch. Title: Software Engineer (Java)
Location: Indianapolis, IN 

Your Purpose:

As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, implement and maintain the products that support the hc1 cloud based platform.  By participating in design and code reviews, documentation of design, and implementation of Agile methodologies to ensure high quality software, this position helps to evolve the world’s leading cloud-based precision health solutions. As part of Engineering Team, this role is critical to the maturation of all hc1 products from UX/UI to server-side integrations. The role is also critical to the maturation of all hc1 products by incorporating Continuous Improvement methods and software quality best practices into the team’s work products.

As an AWS Partner Network organization, our cloud-based software organizes live data (including lab results, genomics, and medications) to deliver solutions that ensure the right patient gets the right test and the right prescription.

Your Key Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the development of hc1’s applications and healthcare platform
  • Design, build, and test new features and functionality based on requirements provided
  • Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design, and implementation of Agile Methodologies to ensure high quality software
  • Troubleshoot and fix software application problems
  • Participate in hc1’s software process quality efforts

Your Skills & Experiences:

  • A four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field 2-3 years experience with software design and development
  • 1+ years professional experience doing Java or Python development
  • Experience in designing and developing modern web User Interfaces. Experience with react.js is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and debugging Restful Web services and micro-services.
  • Cloud experience is a plus
  • Professional skills in working with various relational database systems
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in small team environments
