Information Collected from E-mail
You may volunteer to provide us personally identifying information in an electronic message or web-based form. Contact Information collected in this manner is used solely for responding to your request unless noted in the specific web page where your request is made. We do not share this information with government agencies, commercial and non-commercial entities, or the public unless noted on a particular web page. Any Contact Information that you provide to us in an e-mail may be subject to disclosure under a Freedom of Information Act request. We also retain an e-mail log of the time each message is received, the time each message is forwarded, the delivery status of each message, and a unique e-mail identifier number. The e-mail log may be retained indefinitely.
Where client access is required, the use of a User ID and password will be used to authenticate to hc1.com systems. You are responsible for keeping your User ID and password confidential. The use of your User ID and password by you or any other person with or without your knowledge or consent, in connection with hc1.com, binds you legally and makes you responsible for any such online transaction. You should promptly notify hc1.com if you become aware or suspicious of unauthorized use of your User ID and password.
Clients are authenticated to a secure site, using industry standard encryption. Software tags called "cookies" are used to identify and verify clients when they access the client side of our web site and to store return client information so that repetitive keystrokes are minimized. Cookies are used to remember client preferences and maximize performance of our services.
Attempts to authenticate to the client side of our web site using User IDs and passwords may be logged and audited. Client information and logs are maintained for purposes of security and accuracy.
If you post material to a blog located on or accessed through this Site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected or used by other users of these blogs, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these blogs.
We may post customer testimonials/comments/reviews on our Site, which may contain personally identifiable information. We do not obtain the customer's consent via email, an electronically signed or digitally scanned consent prior to posting the user’s name along with their testimonial. If a user wishes to have his or her testimonial changed or removed, the user may request the same in writing.
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect technical and statistical data about your visit, such as your browser type, the pages you visit and any search terms you use. We also collect your public IP address when you visit the Site. We may use your public IP address in order to determine whether certain requests are fraudulent or frivolous, and we may automatically cross-reference your public IP address with your domain name (usually the domain name of your ISP or employer).
In addition, we may cull certain data from within the set of Contact Information and log data we collect from you and combine that information with information we collect from other hc1.com users, clients and customers (collectively, the “Aggregated Information”) in order to improve the quality and value of hc1.com product offerings and to analyze and understand how our Site is used. We may share Aggregated Information (after stripping of any information that would personally identify you) and log data with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling, and other purposes.
Like many websites, we use "cookies" to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer's hard disk for record keeping purposes. We use both session ID cookies and/or persistent cookies. We utilize session ID cookies to enable certain features of the Site, to better understand how you interact with the Site, and to monitor aggregate usage by hc1.com users and web traffic routing on the Site. Unlike persistent cookies, session cookies are deleted from your computer when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. Further, you can instruct your browser, by editing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. If you do not accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use all portions of the Site or all functionality of the Site. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our Site .
Third Party Cookies
Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We may employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. web beacons/web bugs), that help us better manage content on our Site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs/web beacons are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers' personally identifiable information. Web beacons do not collect any personally identifiable information.
Links to Other Sites
hc1.com occasionally provides links to other entities on its Site for your convenience in locating certain information, services, and products. Please be advised that when you link to these other sites, you are leaving hc1.com’s Site and that these other sites are maintained by organizations over which hc1.com has no control.
The security of user Contact Information is important to hc1.com. hc1.com follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to hc1.com, both during transmission and once the company receives it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, hc1.com cannot guarantee its absolute security.
In the event hc1.com goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, users' Contact Information might be among the assets transferred.
